With much joy we are pleased to announce:
Gary Allman and Ginger Davis are getting married!!!
Our friends and families are heartily invited to join us in a relaxing week of casual celebrations leading up to our wedding on Friday, February 20, 2009.
As you can well imagine, it’s hard to plan a wedding when one is in the middle of immigrating. So there is a lot we don’t know yet.
What we DO know: We’re getting married. (Not negotiable.) And so
that people in the UK can travel easily, we’ve picked Friday, February 20, 2009 to be the wedding. But that doesn’t mean you can’t come before then. No, we are quite hoping that UK friends and family will fly here the weekend before and spend some time getting to know this new place Gary now calls home. Not to mention, the US friends and family want to get to know everyone from the UK. We’ve got some catching up to do. Stories to tell. Embarrassing details to divulge! The wedding will be Friday so that people can travel home on Saturday and be somewhat settled before Monday’s start of the work week.
What we DON’T know: The specific course of events and times for
things. We have some general ideas, but there’s just not been time yet to think about such things. Rest assured there will be plenty of time for relaxing, drinking, eating, watching movies, playing Wii, touring the area, hitting junk shops & art galleries, getting to know each other, and just plain having fun. (More on that later.)
We’ll send out more formal invitations when we’ve finalized the
plans. But in the meantime it’s time to buy your plane tickets, put in for leave off work, and make plans to be here!
